A fun part of my week was talking with my little brother David, 13, on the phone about books, which we both love.
What he picks up from the same books I read fascinates me. Numbers and details.
He told me the winter was long for the folks in "The Little House in the Prairie" series because it was long every 21 years back then, and he told me Laura was first attracted to Almanzo because of his horses, which were X kind of horses and could pull X amount of pounds individually and X amount of pounds as a team.
But then, this is the guy who includes about as many numbers in his sentences as words and a conversation with him usually means listening to him calculate something out loud.
And this is me, who just remembers that they fell in love in this book and they hated in this book and these people fought and killed in this book. Don’t ask me about the details.
